Through her years of experience in caring for the elderly and attending the bedside of the dying, Mary Jo Bennett has cultivated a deeper awareness of life in its ever changing forms.  Essayist and author of the book, When Autumn Comes: Creating Compassionate Care for the Dying, Ms. Bennett is passionate about exploring topics related to aging, sickness and death.  By lifting up our culture’s perceptions of these issues, she invites each of us to shed the myths and fears that shroud the beauty and mystery of death and what lies beyond. “When an individual learns how to be curious and committed to developing mindfulness, aging can become a remarkable journey of ever deepening contentment and enhanced well-being.”  She lives on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.

"We are what we think.

All that we are arises with our thoughts.

With our thoughts we make the world.

Speak or act with a pure mind

And happiness will follow you

As your shadow, unshakable."
